Amit, I'd recommend reviewing your application closely and trying to figure out whereyou might have been less competitive. In some cases, it may not be aneasily remedied issue (e.g., if your essays weren't as compelling orwell-written as other applicants). If it's an issue that can beimproved (e.g., a GMAT score), then WL applicants should retake it. Ifyou're already around our average (706 last year), then that wouldn'thave been the issue.

Ds0613: That happens. If the typo is in one of your uploaded documents such asan essay, you can always resend it to and we willappend it to your original application. You may just want to drop us aline saying that you recognize that you made a typo rather thansubmitting the information again.

Jacob, we will review our waitlist along with our Round 2 applications. Someof those waitlisted may be admitted or just kept on the waitlist to bereviewed at a later date. We will use a similar process for our Round3. After that, we are basically managing the waitlist on a rollingbasis. Any new info should be forwarded to and makeit clear that you are on the waitlist. This will ensure that yourinformation is considered in the timeliest manner.

Vani, I'd recommend reviewing your app, assessing where you may have beenless competitive, and addressing the issue, if it's one that can beaddressed. Otherwise, as difficult as it may be, I recommend beingpatient. Activity on the waitlist may be brisk or slow, depending onthe yield from admitted students.

Saurabh, well actually that's where the rest of your application comes intoplay. How do you differentiate yourself? Outside interests, extra-curricular activities. Also, we really try to get to know the applicanton a more personable level through our 3rd and 4th essays. Finally, youneed to highlight what unique contribution you can bring to the Rosscommunity.SoojinKwonKohROSS (Jan 22, 2009 12:27:21 PM)
Rothenberg - We do not accept revised essays. That would be unfair to the other applicants who were waitlisted or denied.JackFritzRoss (Jan 22, 2009 12:06:00 PM)
Linda, we identified any possible weaknesses in our application, and then wesought to improve our application to the best of our ability. Oncethese improvements were made, we notified the admissions committee.JackFritzRoss (Jan 22, 2009 12:27:53 PM)
Andrea, for me, it was somewhat difficult but definitely doable. I was admittedon August 6th. Because I had filled out my FAFSA in February and hadalready researched loan opportunities, I just had to complete thepaperwork which took less than an hour. As far as housing goes, thereare openings in buildings and houses around campus that are relativelyeasy to find. The university also has some great resources to help youfind housing.SoojinKwonKohROSS (Jan 22, 2009 12:29:42 PM)
AnkushB- I'd caution against contacting the AdCom on a regular basiswithout anything substantive to add to your case. In addition to anyimprovements you make, we are also evaluating how waitlisted applicantsmanage their time on the WL process. The professionalism and judgmentthat waitlisted applicants display will tell us a lot about how they willhandle themselves at school and in the recruiting process.
